Family Mediation Glossop offer Mediation Information Assessment Meeting (MIAM) and mediation by sole or shuttle mediation for couples and we also offer out of hours mediation for maximum convenience.
Sometimes a good place to start is family mediation and this is why we are recommended by family courts, solicitors and Citizen advice all across the UK.
A Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting (MIAM) is the first session with a specially trained familial mediator to determine if your issues may be resolved from outside trial and whether mediation is a viable solution.
The mediator will assist you and the other parent in working through each of your issues, evaluating your alternatives, deciding if they would work well in practise, and settling on the best course of action. If you do not feel comfortable in the same room as the other parent, the mediator may arrange for “shuttle” mediation. In shuttles mediating, the opposing parties are divided into different bedrooms, and the mediators “shuttles” among them in an effort to assist them to a settlement.
Since April 2014, anybody seeking help from the courts to resolve conflicts with children or money must first attend a Mediation Information Assessment Meeting. This includes any requests for:
Child Arrangements Order
Particular Issue Order
Prohibited Steps Order
Parental Obligation Order
A court order naming a child’s guardian
Order Removing Jurisdiction
Order for Special Guardianship
Mediators are completely impartial so that helps with providing solutions for couples in a fast and effective manner without judgement and influence.
As mediators we don't disclose any information to anyone.
We work exclusively for the couples providing a safe environment.
On average mediation costs less than £500 per couple to resolve disputes sometimes less. Go to your family Solicitor and you will spend thousands.
